Whirlpool Appliances

The Whirlpool Appliances integrationIntegrations connect and integrate Home Assistant with your devices, services, and more. [Learn more] allows you to connect Whirlpool, Maytag, KitchenAid, and Consul appliances to Home Assistant.

Supported devices

The following appliances are confirmed to be working, but other models may also work.

Air conditioners:

  • Whirlpool SPIW309A2WF

  • Whirlpool SPIW409A2WF

Washers:

  • Whirlpool WTW6120HW2
  • Whirlpool WTW8127LW1
  • Maytag MHW8630HW0

Dryers:

  • Whirlpool WGD8127LW3

Prerequisites

  • Valid Whirlpool (or related brand) account credentials.
  • Registered appliances in the official Whirlpool (or related brand) mobile app.

Configuration

To add the Whirlpool Appliances hub to your Home Assistant instance, use this My button:

Manual configuration steps

If the above My button doesn’t work, you can also perform the following steps manually:

  • Browse to your Home Assistant instance.

  • Go to Settings > Devices & services.

  • In the bottom right corner, select the Add Integration button.

  • From the list, select Whirlpool Appliances.

  • Follow the instructions on screen to complete the setup.

Username

The username of your Whirlpool (or related brand) account.

Password

The password of your Whirlpool (or related brand) account.

Region

The region in which your account is registered.

Brand

The brand of the mobile app. It may or may not be the same brand as the appliances.

Supported functionality

This integrationIntegrations connect and integrate Home Assistant with your devices, services, and more. [Learn more] maps appliances to entities in Home Assistant. A single appliance may be represented by one or more entities.

Binary sensor

The binary sensor platform provides the following functionality:

  • state of the washer/dryer machine door (open/closed)

Button

The button platform provides the following functionality:

  • stop the current cooking program for an oven cavity

Climate

The whirlpool climate platform integrates Whirlpool air conditioning systems into Home Assistant, allowing control of the appliance through the user interface. The current inside temperature is also displayed on the thermostat card.

The following actions are also available:

Light

The light platform provides the following functionality:

  • turn an oven cavity light on or off

Ovens with two cavities have separate light entities for the upper and lower cavity.

Number

The number platform provides the following entity for ovens:

  • Target temperature: Sets the target temperature for an oven cavity, keeping the current cooking mode.

Important

If the oven is idle, setting the target temperature starts a bake cycle at the set temperature.

Select

The select platform provides the following entity for refrigerators:

  • Temperature level: Sets the temperature level of the refrigerator. The available options are -4 °C, -2 °C, 0 °C, 3 °C, and 5 °C.

The select platform provides the following entity for ovens:

  • Cook mode: Sets the cook mode of an oven cavity, keeping the current target temperature. Selecting Standby turns the oven off by stopping the current cook.

Sensor

The whirlpool sensor platform integrates Whirlpool Washer and Dryer systems into Home Assistant, allowing views of the machine state, time remaining, and the “wash & go” tank fill status as sensors for each device.

Removing the integration

This integration follows standard integration removal. No extra steps are required.

To remove an integration instance from Home Assistant

  1. Go to Settings > Devices & services and select the integration card.
  2. From the list of devices, select the integration instance you want to remove.
  3. Next to the entry, select the three dots menu. Then, select Delete.
